375ml (thx, Alex M. for a pick-up and sending!) @ Matt's new place. Appearance: very dark brown with almost no head. Aroma: dark fruits, brown sugars, charred barrel notes. Taste: along the same lines, with some spiciness from the rum barrel, moderately sweet. Overall: pretty good, but it's definitely not worth the implied cost coming from the membership.

375mL bottle, pours jet black with almost no head. Aroma mostly brings out the bourbon barrels upfront, followed by a hint of rum, and some burnt sugars. Flavour is rich, with lots of burnt sugars that are largely attenuated out, backed by a nice bourbon barrel character. I don't get the rum. Not brutal by any means. Smooth and bourbon-heavy on the finish. Excellent but overpriced.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-balc color stout with a small brown foamy head with limited retention and light lacing. Aroma of bourbon notes with some woody notes and vanilla with some chocolate notes is quite enticing. Taste is a heavy mix of strong bourbon notes with some woody notes and vanilla with some chocolate notes and light warming rum notes also perceptible. Body is full with an oily texture and good carbonation. Solid BA aged stout with plenty of barrel character transferred to the beer.

Reviewed on tap May 22, 2022, when most around the region had lost power after a freak storm. Dark brown colour with a tiny head, a few bubbles and minimal lacing. Very alcoholic nose with the rich rum and bourbon notes. Molasses and bitters do come out. The taste is better balancing with the two alcohols, bitterness, roasted malts, molasses and hints of maple. The mouthfeel has a nice building dryness. What I thought would be way too rich, came out much nicer blended. Lots going on here - well done!
