Cask at Pigs Ear 2017, day 1 - Hackney, London. Pours clear gold with a foamy, white head. The nose holds pale grains, carpets, old citrus rind. Light sweet flavour with more pale bread, rind, biscuits and grass. Light bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Finishes with some doughy biscuits, light bitter hay. So so.

Cask at Pig's Ear 2017. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The aroma is sweet, oily, sugary, candied stuff, toasty grain, toffee and biscuit. The taste is dry, oily, toasty grain, grass, earth, porridge, twig and dirt with a dry, grainy finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth - feel. A very run of the mill golden amber. Forgettable.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Clear gold beer, small white head. Light palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin dry malts, modest sweetness. Contrasting bitter orange peel. Trace of fresher citrus. Dry finish. Not the best fest showings from Colchester.
