Cask at CBC, Clerkenwell on 18th August 2016. Deep brown with off-white non-lacing foam. Roasty malts and intense spiciness in aroma. Plum, bitter chocolate, rich nuttiness and roast coffee in-mouth with grapefruit citrus. A spicy, roasty, burnt malt finish. Full-bodied with a surprisingly light mouthfeel. Excellent.

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 22 April 2016) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, pine needles, black rye bread and a touch of cranberries. Malty, roasted, slightly fruity taste with coffee, pine needles, citrus, grapefruit and a generous citric/piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well made black IPA, with a good hop presence. Nice one.

Bradford Beer Festival 2016. Very dark with a strong tropical fruit nose and taste, and very strong tasting too.

Cask at the CP&K, 19/04/16. Light black topped with a decent tan head. Nose is sweet malt, burnt toffee, earthy red berry, light pine notes, dusty hop. Taste comprises toffee, light charr, roast malt, pine, blackberries, toasted brown sugar. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sweet close with a trace of earthy hop bitterness. Ok ... Overly sweet ... needs more balance and bitterness.
