Pigs Ear. Cask. Clear brown - amber beer, no head. Smooth light malts bring mild toffee. Modest ripe fruits and salted caramel. Fruity caramel on the light finish. Not too sweet and pretty drinkable.

Cask, Handpull at Pig’s Ear 2017. It pours deepest brown – black with a tiny white head. The aroma is sweet, oily, caramel, toffee, something artificial like playdough/plasticine, candied stuff and savoury notes akin to Hoisin duck. The taste is dry, bitter, oily, resin, salt & pepper, rather savoury, meaty, oily, Chinese cuisine, charred wood, tar, biscuit and toffee with a dry, tannin finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A particularly weird mix of flavours. I am not sold on this one...

Cask at Pig's Ear '17,day one, 05/12/17. Black pour with no head. Nose is sweet, maple syrup, caramel, toffee, very light roasted aromas. Taste comprises salted caramel, dark fruits, cocoa powder, light roast, toffee, vanilla. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Ok porter and I definately got the Salted aspect of the Caramel in the taste ... not always the case in such beers !

Cask at Pigs Ear 2017 - Hackney. Pours clear red-brown with a light, bubbly head. The nose holds lots of butterscotch, caramel, bread. Medium sweet flavour with toasted brown bread, creamy caramel, earthy bitterness. Light to medium bodied, somewhat oily, with fine carbonation. Finishes with notes of leafy hops, more gooey caramel. Interesting, but just OK overall.
