Cask gravity at the Pig's ear beer festival 05/12/2017. A murky turd brown coloured pour with no head. Aroma is paint stripper, sweet toffee, praline. Flavour is composed of sweet sticky orange, solvent, wood, paint stripper, sweet and jammy. Bad beer. Palate is solvent, sweet sticky. Bad lingering toffee apple.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Paleish brown beer, a few white bubbles. Palate is smooth and semi dry, low carbonation. Sweet malts, some grain. Vodka alcohol. Caramel and brandy spice. Ripe spicy fruits. Light finish brings banana esters. Not too bad, some condition would have been good.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2017, day 1 - London. Pours murky gold with a thin, white cream topping. The nose holds rich malts, light caramel, honey. Medium to big sweet flavour with notes of alcohol, light spices, white bread, toffee. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, sugary, with more pale bread. So so overall.

Cask at Pig's Ear 2017. It pours crazy murky brown with limited head. The aroma is soft, sweet, oily, chewy toffee, toffee apple, milky tea, candy, pear and melon. The taste is slick, oily, chewy, tart fruits, apricot, peach skin, earthy, musty, melon, apple, pear, toffee, varnish and boozy warmth through the finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Lacks a bit of cohesion - I am not sure the Belgian yeast works that well with the barley wine style.

Cask at Pig's Ear '17,day one, 05/12/17. Murky orange amber with little in the way of a head. Nose is sweet and sour, stewed fruits, yeast esters, booze fumes, light spice. Taste comprises raw fruits, melted brown sugar, dried fruits, earthy, toffee, pear drop. Full bodied, cloying feel, sweet boosty rise. Not for me ... raw in places and rather unbalanced.

Cask at Pigs Ear BY. Sweet syrupy aroma. Opaque bronze. No head. Light sweet bitter. Plummy. Fruity. Light bodied. Pithy. Long flat finish. Just not that interesting.
