Cask at Tap East, Stratford, London on 17th September 2011. Crystal clear copper with thin dying head. Malty, fruity aroma, some caramel. Liquid is smoky, grassy and slightly ashy with developing citric end. Herbiness continues in finish, on light textured full bodied mouthfeel.

Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green. It pours deep ruby, with a thick, off-white head. The nose is wood, spice and lemon pith. The taste is wood, leather, subtle sweet dark fruit, roasted malt, soap, metal and plastic, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not great.

Cask at the White Horse, Parsons Green, London. Pours clear amber with a white foam head. Looks great; but, unfortunately, looks are where the greatness ends. Has a nondescript aroma. Light notes of toast. Flavor is lightly sweet with some toast and an overriding plastic character, which is unfortunate. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Leafy bitter finish, light sugar. Faint burnt white sugar. Not much going for this. Not very good.
