Bottle 330ml (AbM)
Opaque black color, good creamy beige head. Piney, roasted aroma with hints of licorice. Light to medium-bodied. Piney, roasted flavor too with salt licorice and some burned notes. Quite flavorsome for this ABV.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Piney and tropical fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of grapefruit, mango, passion fruit, orange. Taste is fruity and bitter hoppy, grapefruit and lemon notes, a grassy touch, bitter, roasty dark malty basis, hints of coffee, minimally mineral and chalky overtones. Extremely aromatic, especially considering its only 4.4% abv - very nice Session Black IPA!

Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours murky dark brown with a thick light tan head. The nose is toasty, pine needles, varnish, cocoa, sherbet and candied peel. The taste is crisp, bitter, roasted malt, earth, mild coffee, orange rind, lemon peel, mild acidity, charred wood and toast with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Great flavour for the abv. A rather nice ceeedaaay.

Bottle split at the Beers of London Tasting, picked up at the brewery, 10/12/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent tan covering. Nose is pine, dark malt, tangy red berries, light spice, dank hop notes. Taste comprises pine needles, charr, biscuit notes, cocoa rub, earthy mineral notes, dank hops. Medium body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid CDA especially when considering the ABV!

Bottle shared at Leightons pre Christmas tasting. Mahogany brown, little murky, off cream / grey coloured head. Aroma is rubber, caramel, piney, with a dirty edge. Tangy lemon, citrus, bitter choc, piney hop, little roast malt. Uber dry in the finish. Lingering tangy lemon citrus and grapefruit. Palate is medium light, very dry finish.

Keg at the Brewery. Opaque black - brown beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light and a little soft. Thin dark malts, light roast and coffee. Hops are a nice pine. Little citrus underneath and a whisper of ripe fruits. Mild hop spice. Comes together well.

Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home. Black beer with a lasting thick tan head. Roasted malt and lime aroma hops typical of a black ipa. Some chocolate. Not keen in the mouth, too hoppy and it’s a sour grapefruit flavour. Not pleasant, too aggressive, too many hops and I’m not a fan of this style anyway. Too roasty, too hoppy, lacks balance and drinkability. Too harsh on the finish.
