Cask at CPK. Dark brown pour with a foamy, light tan head. Some light roast in the nose, a touch of coffee. Very chalky roasted malt flavor, lightly sweet, with notes of tree bark and burnt, grassy bitterness. Light in body with fine carbonation. Super dry finish, more chalky roast. Eh, so so.

Cask at CPK, Pimlico, London on 29th January 2011. Dark ruby with thin pale brown head. Earthy aroma with some fruits and malty background. Heavy mouthfeel, fruits and roasted malts with touches of coffee/bitter chocolate and citric tang that continues into a somewhat acidic finish. Wasn’t too sure if I liked the juxtaposition of citrus against the finer malt flavours, one that seemed more discordant than harmonious.
