33 cl bottle @ Hatanpää tasting room, BBE 01.08.2026 Aroma has licorice, some alcohol tones and liquor. Flavour has salty-ish licorice, sharp alcohol, sweet malt. OK slow sipper, drinkability could be better though. Sweetness disturbs a bit. Somewhat close to Nøgne DH4.

Bottle at happy new year tasting. At Colin's. 21/01/2021. Many thanks to Daniel osprey for this one. A thick dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a whispy dark tan head. Aroma is thick oily roast, big dark chocolate,, dried Berry. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, sticky brown sugars, grape, thick and chewy, spicy rum. Palate is medium sweet, thicc, chewy, fine carbonation.. Interesting.

Tasting at Chez Bois. Thanks to Dan. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Soft and viscous palate, decent fine carbonation. Soft very rich dark malts. Smooth creamy dark chocolate. Mild bitterness in the mid. Plenty of fruity Rum ok the back end. Some estery Rum but mercifully not too much. Mild spice. A rich old brew this and it makes me smile.

Bottle at the 'Mere, Happy New Years (Tipples had) Tastang, thanks to Danny 21/01/22. Light black with a light khaki cap that veers to the edge. Nose is sweet malts, chocolate melt, booze, rum barrel, toffee fudge. Taste comprises sweet malts, molasses, brown sugar melt, fruit cake, toffee, kiss or rum. Full bodied, oily viscous feel ... modest carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid kit.

Bottle shared in Hazlemere - cheers to Daniel. Pours oily black-brown with a quite small, creamy tan head. Big sweet flavour, some ashy roast, lots of dark fruits, chocolate, alcohol, torched wood. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming and sticky finish, more gooey chocolate, dark berries, light roast, mellow ash. Good one.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate cake, rum, raisin, caramel, light smoke, taste is similar, quite sweet, chewy.
