Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Heavy on the barrel aroma with roasted malt, wood, dark chocolate, Bourbon, alcohol, raisins, paint thinner, soy sauce, and some green apples. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate bitter with plenty of booze. Body is full. This is a tricky one, there's some lovely roasted chocolate malt here, but then there's the unbalanced boozy paint thinner barrel aging. Another Kees BA that frankly leaves a lot to be desired.

Black, thin brown head. Good smell of an oldschool RIS with some bourbon. Nice thickness, not too gluggy, and pretty damn boozy. Taste is roasty, some treacle, hint of coffee. Bourbon is there but quite subtle, adds another layer. Very oldschool, nice!

Bottle. Black. The aroma is steaming out of my glass. Vanilla, caramel, loads of bourbon. Full bodied. Malty sweet flavor with chocolate and bourbon. Dried cherry fruit. Low on carbon. This one is really nice.

0.33 l bottle from 'Etre Gourmet', best before December 2022, cellared for almost one-and-a-half years. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of praline, coffee, quite some bourbon, vanilla, a touch of dark fruits and hints of green apple. Very sweet, malty, gently roasty-bitter taste of praline, hard roasted coffee, licorice, dark fruits, bourbon and vanilla, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, minimally woody and slightly boozy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Quite heavy on the barrel and not very refined but very tasty nevertheless due to the pleasant bourbon flavours and that fruity touch.

deep dark brown colour, moderate sized creamy beige head; aroma of dried cherry, dark chocolate, some cognac notes, burnt sugar and hints of vanilla; taste is more or less the same with syrupy sweetness, definite whisky and burnt woody notes; great imperial stout!

Bottle split at L6, thanks to Leighton, 17/01/19. Light black with a well presented tan head. Nose is rich roast, fruit cake, spice, mellow roast, toffee. Taste comprises fruit loaf, rich roast malts, dates, sultanas, light cocoa dusting, charr, toffee, brown sugar. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced alcohol. Decent enough easy drinking impy stout.

Bottle shared in London - sourced online. Pours deep brown with a creamy beige head. Has ashy roast, woody dryness, cocoa, leather, alcohol. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, more ashy roast, woody dryness, baking cocoa. Not bad.
