50 cl bottle vintage 2020 (purple vax, 11,4%) @ FF tasting. Rated on 13.03.2021. Aroma has licorice and liquor. Flavour has licorice, liquor, whisky tones and too sharp alcohol. Also woody tones. Also sweet rye pudding-ish malt. Good but alcohol is too stingy here. Rated on 2021-03-13.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is malt forward with lots of chocolate and moderate roast notes. Light tobacco, leather, caramel and toffee notes. Medium light bourbon and light alcohol and oak notes. Pours a jet black with a large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes slowly to a small, creamy film that lingers. Medium lacing and fairly long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet and a bit sticky with moderately strong chocolate malt notes. Light caramel, toffee and roast notes with faint leather and tobacco. Medium bitterness and medium light alcohol spice. Light oak and bourbon notes. Hinata of raisin and sherry. Mouthfeel is full bodied and sticky with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid eclipse variant. Lots of malt character with plenty of barrel character. Sometimes I prefer an adjunct-free imperial eclipse and this one is great.
