2008 version. On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear ruby-amber with a white head the dissipated to the edges and laces. Aroma consisted mainly of sweet grain and molasses with a slight underlying tone of alcohol. There was also a hint of dark fruit on the nose. Flavor started with molasses and a bit of sweet grain. These notes were joined by prunes and raisins in the finish.

On tap at Town Hall on 05/26/2009. Clear dark brown body with ruby highlights. Light peat and smoke aroma with some chocolate hints. Sweet smoke and peat flavor, light chocolate and caramel notes. Full body with moderately low carbonation.

Handbottled 12 oz from Footbalm; Thanks Eric! Crystal clear cherry brown with a small straw head; Nose of smoke, caramel, and some coffee; flavor was heavy with smoke light caramel, and a tiny coffee note. More like a smoked ale!

GABF 2006 - just getting around to post. I actually poured this at the festival, and tasted quite a bit of it. Interesting Wee Heavy - very oaky, almost whisky aroma and taste.

Perhaps the best beer Town Hall has made. Light fruit aromas with malt, and a sweet aroma as well. Very dark, almost black with no head. Great flavor with much complexity. It had some flavors of a Baltic porter and a pleasant lager taste. More heavy fruit and sugar in the taste. It seems like a beer one should sip, but it is so smooth it is easy to drink a lot of this.
