GABF 2006 - tasted and poured this beer. Not sure of the quality of the keg as my opinion varies quite a bit from other posts. I thought the coffee aroma and taste were overpowering, with no stout quality whatsoever in the beer. It tasted as if coffee was masking, not enhancing.

Slightly hazy dark brown coloured body with a thin light brown head. Roasty malt flavour with some coffee tastes later on. Aftertaste has some dark chocolate (~60% cacao) tastes and a fair amount of roasted malt. Overall, a nice beer overall, pretty much what you’d expect from the title! I sampled this beer in a growler from draught after the RB party at Founder’s in Alexandria, Virginia at Mike’s (the_beer_god) hotel room on 20-November-2004.

Cask pour. Aroma of coffee and oatmeal. Black, with a small head that laced the glass. Mild coffee flavor, followed by semi sweet fruit. Medium to full body. Very drinkable.
