Almost pure black with no highlights. From the can comes a big light mocha-coloured frothy, bubbly head, very good retention and some foamy-creamy lacing left. Warm alcohol nose with lots of roasted malts. Hints of coffee, dark fruits and very minimal chocolate notes. The taste is big on the roasted malts as well and some decent dark fruits, mostly prunes. The alcohol is well-hidden in the mouthfeel though. Well-balanced hops in the finish. Quite a nice Imperial Porter, but chocolate is not really apparent. So, wish I could taste these cocoa nibs from our local source in Almonte, Ontario.

A deep dark porter with a thick frothy lacing brown head. In aroma, nice chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light coffee, pleasant. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, light butterscotch, light vanilla, light powdery character, pleasant. On tap at Craft beer market, Ottawa.
