Panda thanks to Cloin. Near clear deep brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, light, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Mellow smooth dark malts, a mild but pleasant dark chocolate streak. Touch of smoke on the back end. Smooth finish. A pleasant if pretty standard affair. Apples? No apple character here for me. Well maybe a very light niff on the light and semi dry finish. A decent beer but a let down expectation wise after reading the description. Too subtle!

Can at home, from HOTM online, 02/02/2025.
Black pour with a big old lasting khaki head.
Nose is chocolate melt, syrup on waffles, dark malts, nutty, light roast.
Taste comprises chocolate, maple syrup, dark malts, brown sugar melt, dark fruit nip.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a modest kiss of alcohol.
Okay mellow and easy drinking impy stout but a touch on the pedestrian and safe side.

16 oz can received in a trade with Tom, thanks. The very Last time I have to type that! Aroma is mild roast them all and chocolate nuances. I want to have chocolate and caramel, but I’m having a real hard time finding apples. Bodies a touch thin but it drinks ok.

Can (10/2/23) from Rapid Liquors, Stoneham. Opaque black with no sparkle, nice viscosity, ephemeral fizzy head fading to a ring, no lacing. Aroma is roasted earthy malt, smoke/ash and toffee. Taste is strong earthy, roasted malt, molasses, smoke/ash, wood, mild caramel. Some apple after it warms. Smooth, thick texture, full bodied, soft carbonation, mildest alcohol warmth, and roasty/woody/earthy/toffee finish. Apples are not prominent but rest is here offering decent complexity.

Can, split with Tim. Pours black, with a small, beige ring. The nose is apple brandy, heavy caramel, espresso, and black bread. Sweet and malty, with a mellow, burnt bitterness. Heavy body, dusty, and bready. Fun and interesting, and surprisingly tasty.

Four pack from Appalachian. Canned on 9/30, but brand new, wtf? Another can I decided not to send to my SS. Keeping it strictly freshies. Pint glass @home. Dark, rich, opaque brown on black pour, lingering cocoa head, spotty lace. Ashy sweet, lingering caramel(noticeable!), rich dark bread, some acidity but no apples(Grrr...). Smooth coffee finish. Bittersweet. Shit, really wanted to feel those apples. Lush as fuck. Warming & sorta boozy. Great.
