Inspired by the summer nights when you want to linger a little longer, when the sun has set but the sky is still lit and the first stars start to appear. Early Appearance of Stars is a West Coast IPA--a style that got most of us into craft beer--and pours a brilliant, deep gold color bursting with aromas of citrus zest, woodsy dankness, mixed berries, fresh cut grass, and mellow toasted grains. The flavor brings an intense grapefruit juice character and a long lasting, assertive bitterness. Early Appearance of Stars finishes crisp and dry just like a Maine summer night.

Can shared by AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Hazy, bright yellow with nice sparkle, decent head and ring of soapy lacing. Aroma is citrus, stone fruit and mild pine. Taste is citrusy, dank, mild pine, cracker. Smooth texture, average carbonation, crackery, mildly bitter finish. Aroma is not classic West Coast IPA (and is lovely) but flavor is more traditional and not super strong. OK.

16 oz can. Aroma is very mild tangerine peel with bread like malt. Flavor is fruit character with very little pine and or resin notes. Moderate bread malt keeps the hops honest and adds a proper amount of balance. Highly drinkable for me!

Translucent lemon yellow with a ring of white head. Nose has what you want, lemon lime soda and grass and big citrus zest. Flavor is simple honey and grist and then all the hop stuff. Zippy finish. Off dry. 7 4 6 3 13
