DDH Refreshing Double IPA (Motueka) is brewed with a grist of two row barley and flaked rice, and fermented with our expressive house Ale yeast. Dry hopped with plenty of the freshest Galaxy, Citra, and Lemondrop, then secondarily hit with, to put it lightly, quite the generous splash (and by splash I’m talking first prize at the 1996 Deerbrook Swim Club Cannonball Contest kind of splash) of New Zealand Motueka. We find this beer simple. We find this beer refreshing. We find this beer double dry hopped. 8.0% ABV. Notes of lemon curd, lychee smoothies, ruby red grapefruit candies, mango meringue, & a mouthful of orange starburst =)

Can. A light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Soft palate, semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Fluffy pale malts, a light creamy sweetness, touch of grain. Hops bring soft pine, a mild hop spice. Nice but soft lemon led citrus. For the hundredth time, I wonder why Lemondrop is not more widely used. Modest pine throughout. Not the punchiest of DIPAs but a pleasant one.

Can at CBJ. Hazy dark orange. Thin foamy frothy white head. Aroma has an initial sweet fruit over sourness. Flavourwise is similar. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish.

Can split at the CBJ tasting, thanks to Fergus, 04/03/2026.
Murky orange topped with a lasting off white head.
Nose is bitter orange, grass, melon.
Taste comprises bitter orange, light soapy nip, grass, melon.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close spliced with juicy hop bitterness.
Okay but from TH's best ... has an off soapy note about it.

16 oz can in a trade with tfontana. Thank you Tom! Aroma is lychee fruit and pineapple. Flavor is a myriad of fruit. Pineapple, peach, lychee and ends with some sweet malt. A soft trace of pome also. At 3 months old this is abundantly flavorful. Great!

Can (5/10/24) pour from One Stop Market. Opaque milky yellow with no sparkle, thick head with good retention and nice, soapy lacing. Aroma is strong lemon, herb. Taste is strong grain, lemon, moderate bitterness. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and dry finish as taste. A bit malty in the flavor but quality.
