Half-pint, cask ale at Flying Horse Hotel. Creamy white head leaving spotty lacing down the glass. Hazed warm golden body. Moderate malt-fruity aromas. Mixed taste of herbal hops and toffee followed by a rounded bitter finish. Likable. Nice partner to a well made tuna sandwich at the pub. (Rochdale 05.05.208).

500ml bottle. Orange golden colour, creamy white foam head leaving lacing and metallic citrusy aroma. Taste is malt & grain, light toffee, straw, some marmalade citric, and a strong metalic bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry astringent bitter finish. Quite OK.

Handpull cask at Broood at the Prince of Wales, Hinckley. Dark gold bordering on copper, incredibly clear. Low aroma of caramel and orange peel. Taste is a bit bitter and spicy with grainy and vegetal notes nearer to the finish. It has a nice mouthfeel for the strength: oily but far from thin. Not a bad beer by any means but it has issues that keep it from being the beer it could be...
