One for the hop heads, using a combination of some of our favourite American hops for a big punchy citrus, pine and tropical fruit hit.

Keg at the Beerhouse, Bury St Edmunds. Dark gold, cloudy with very little head. Papaya, touch of ammonia in the light aroma. Sharp bitter/sour taste. Carbonation soft, almost flat. A passable but not particularly engaging pale ale.

2nd Beer on a random tasting session with myself at home on 21st July 2017. 330ml bottle poured into a Duvel glass, off-white head, soon a wisp and collar, clean and clear amber body. The aroma is a strong blend of maltiness, hedgerow fruits, gooseberries and earthiness. Taste is an interesting and complex blend of flavours: semi-sweet malty molasses battle it out with gooseberry and woody notes. Different and fun.

Bottle from Aldi, Inverurie. It pours crystal clear pale gold with a medium white head. The aroma is soft, quite clean, white bread, malt loaf, sweet lemon and gooseberry. The taste is crisp, clean, straw, lemon, soda water, touch grainy, biscuit and hint of gooseberry with a dry finish. Light+ body and and average carbonation. A bit light really. It’s ok, but could been done with being punchier.
