Cask at Portwall Tavern, Bristol. Clear amber-brown. Aroma is malty with a sour edge. Flavourwise it's then reslly.quite sour. Underlying malty hints. Light. Thin to slick. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Not at it's best. Not a great bitter.

1/2 pint from the cask at Hole In The Wall, Southsea. Pours clear light brown with a small head that doesn't last. Aromas and tastes of caramel, toffee & malt. Light to moderate body. Light bitter finish. Enjoyable but fairly average.

I am having a mini-tasting with myself today, 17th March 2023. The wife is out with old school friends, so Bertie and I are home alone until they all turn up later to use our bar. A friend gave me 8 bottles of this, so I suppose I'd better review one before they all go! Beer number 5 in my session. 50cl bottle: BB 1st June 2023, poured into an 8 Sail Brewery tall straight sided pint glass. Brown body, thin off-white head. Twiggy and slightly malty with a 'home brew' feel. You know, it's a friends own brew and he loves it, but you have 'reservations'. PS, the wife is back and she's brough five back with her!

Cask at Off the Rails, Weston Super Mare. Pours clear amber with an off white head. Aroma & taste: malty, caramel, hedgerow berries, a typical trad bitter really. Semi dry bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Fine if rather dull

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 3/5/2017. Amber in colour, with a frothy, off-white, head. Hedgerow fruits, a hint of caramel, touch of leafy hop and moderately bitter finish. Fine.
