Cask at GBBF 2023 - Day 1. Pours clear red-brown with a bubbly tan head. Light sweet flavour, well toasted malts, cocoa, coffee, earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with mellow warmth, more roast, cocoa, earth. Not bad.

1st August 2023
GBBF Day 1. Cask. A light haze on this amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light, semi dry and low on carbonation. Flat watery brown malts. Some suggestions of caramel and ripe fruits. Dry finish. No offensive flavours here but dull as dishwater.

16 oz. can in a trade with johnnnniee. Thanks for the chance. Aroma a soft coffee and roasted malt. Flavor shows weak coffee, mild roast, subtle roasted barley. Body is a little lean but appropriate for the gravity.

Can pour from trade with Johnnnniee--thanks, John! Appearance is opaque black (dark brown at the bottom of the glass) with no sparkle, 2-finger rocky foam beige head with excellent retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is strong earthy roasted malts, mild sweet toffee. Taste follows aroma of earthy, dry roasted malt. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation with late lively zing, crisp, dry finish as taste with mild lingering bitterness. Overall, European stout. Earthy roasted bitterness not my favorite but decently made.

Can from the source. Crystal clear dark brown with garnet at the edges and a frothy off white head that slowly recedes. Caramel and roast with a hint of dark cherry and some light earthy roasty notes. Pretty nice dry stout.

Taster at the source reddish black with a thin tan head. Aromas of roasted malt hops. Taste is thin and dry needs more body and depth like chocolate coffee something more than hops.
