Always brewed with a great malt backbone of Maris Otter, this is a hop forward burst of flavour. The hops used will be varied.

Bottle from (I think) Cornelius. The label says this version is hopped with Centennial and Motueka. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of passionfruit, green mango and pale malt. Flavour of orange pith, pineapple and grass. Thin body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Light and fruity.

33cl bottle from beer52.com. A slightly hazy amber pour with a fast fading white head; spicy hop aroma; pleasant hoppy taste with a sweet malt body; and some gently warming spice to finish.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; clear amber pour with a frothy white head, aroma has some fresh pine and tangerine, taste is malty with a little hop action, the taste doesn’t live up to the aroma, sweet malts, light bitter finish.

Cask at the Draft House, Tower Bridge, 03/01/15. Clear orange amber with a decent off white covering that retains well. Nose is pale malt, straw, citric peel, orange, bready notes. Taste comprises biscuit malt, lighter citric presence, where are the hops? Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Dull, no hops, golden blonde NOT an APA!

Keg at the Lyric. It pours clear golden orange with a medium white head. The nose is fresh, juicy fruits, orange, mango and such like....and some spring onion and straw. The taste is crisp, bitter, lemon rind, orange, floral, light pepper, biscuity malt, faint herbal and some onion with a dry finish. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. Crisp and easy drinking, bit the onion element doesn’t do it any favours.

On keg at the Craft Beer Rising. My general impression here was there was not enough bittering on this one and although it was pleasant to drink, it became a bit too cloying after a while, particularly for this style of beer which should be fresh.

Cask at the rake during the Firebrand tap takeover. Clear golden coloured pour with a fleeting thin white head. Aroma is light biscuity malts with some tea leaves, hedgerow hop. Flavour is middle of the road, decent balance between malt and hop. Spicy tea leaf hop and some grainy malts. Palate is medium with decent cask condition. Not enough hops for an APA.
