750 ml bottle. 2016 vintage. Aroma is bolder oak, slight dark fruit, english toffee. Flavor is mellow with toffee and dark fruit. Backend shows the oak and mild bourbon. Mellow warming after the sip. Body is about medium/ normal. This age extremely well!

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass shared by Chris--thanks man (2016 vintage)! Appearance is orange-light brown with no discernible sparkle, finger-width beige head with good retention and light leggy lacing. Aroma is nice rich caramel and complementary bourbon; vague nuts. Taste is caramel and complementary bourbon, maybe some fruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation, nice mellow alcohol warmth and finish as taste. Overall, the age has been kind as the caramel and bourbon play off each other well. Would be nice on a cool fall/winter evening. Wouldn't guess that's 14.7%.

Draft. A- Oak, cherries, slightly sour, boozy, dark fruits, rose petals. A- Copper color, cloudy liquid, off white head. T- Boozy, cherries, oak, roses. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, boozy finish. O- Amazing the difference aging makes. This tastes nothing like the regular version and takes on a ton of the oaky and whisky taste. Completely different and masks the regular version to the point where you wouldn’t even know they were essentially the same beer.

Enjoyed at gabf 2014. It pours with a nice copper body that has just the slightest haze to it and supports a tan head of foam. The aroma teases up some sweet malts, a bit of spicy oak and mild hoppiness that seems kind of pine like. Wow, the taste is smooth and luscious and sweet where I get slick sweet malts backed up by smooth soft sweet bourbon barrel notes. It then runs straight toward molasses sweetened pine hop bitterness where there’s a thin floral hop sensation floating around the edges. Terrific sipper with great balance of beer and barrel flavors as well as attaining a tasty soft smooth rich sweetness.
