Bottle picked up at Valhalla’s Goat shared at Chriso’s Xmas Tasting 2015. Opens with a pop! It pours clear amber with a massive white head. The nose is sweet, candy-like, toffee apple, candied peel, icing sugar and Appletiser. The taste is bitter-sweet, bready, candied peel, pear drops, alcohol warmth, sweet-sour aspect and toasted brioche with a dryish finish. Medium+ body. moderate, foamy carbonation. A bit sweet and hot, but overall pretty ok for a tripel.

Bottle split at Chriso pre Xmas tasting, 06/12/15. Clear golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is sweet malt, satsuma, light perfume, vanilla essence, straw. Taste comprises bitter orange, trace of yeast, light spice, straw, mellow dark fruits, orange cream. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent for style, well balanced, the sharp citric edge dumbs down the sweetness.

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas/post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Pours unclear gold with a frothy white head. Buttery and estery nose, with undertones of sugary wheat bread. Heavy sweet flavor with lots of dough, esters, butterscotch and candi sugar. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming and syrupy on the finish, with more doughy wheat, yeast expressions, buttery toffee. Not terribly drinkable, even by tripel standards.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - red fruits and malt. Light booze note. Taste - more of the same. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long and fairly balanced finish. Overall - don’t get the Gewurztraminer.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Murky ruby body with a huge off-white head. Sticky lacing. Aroma of fig, dried apricot, digestive biscuit and white pepper. Flavour of stewed apple, caramel and lemony, earthy hops. Finishes with an alcohol burn. Full body with a chewy texture. Fizzy carbonation. Quite boozy and harsh, but it’s nice to see Williams Brothers trying something new and ambitious.
