S: roasted malt - brewed coffee - liccorice A: pitch black body - oily thin head T: nutty - earthy malts - vanilla finish P: icing sugar - caramelised sugars - toasted oatmeal O: toffee - complex, but polished - aged well - about right, it seems at ~5 years 12 ounce can - BeerTopia: Omaha, Nebraska (now defunct) - purchased: 23-January-2020 - canned: 21-November-2019 - US$2,49 - sampled: 23-January-2025, exactly five years after purchase

Can. A- Roasty, leather, tobacco. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Roasty, ash, char, bitter, chocolate. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Hardly an imperial stout at 8% and definitely brewed in a traditional style. They mention that there is definitely not a single adjunct in here and that couldn't be more true. Not sure I agree with the can telling me to drink it cold and fresh, well, at least the cold part. Pretty good all around but too bitter on the finish.

Aroma shows me roasted grain, chocolate, ash, and ale yeast. Flavor follows. Body maybe a tad lean BUT.... this is a classic imperial stout without any adjuncts. Nicely done!
