Darkly fruity with citrus top notes, this sumptuous Imperial Stout is wonderful on its own and an excellent after-dinner digestif.

0.75 l bottle huge thanks to Višnja666 and her sons. Shared with SašaMops, Jadran and her. Oily black, brown head. Lots of alcohol on the nose. Some chocolate and roasty notes. Oily texture, a bit rough nutty and roasty background, obvious oxidation, some cardboard. Medium body, warming. Dry finish.

Drunk very easily. Felt it was more of a mild hybrid than Imperial Stout. Nice effort. #SXShare

Bottle originally shared at the Chriso and Ruth pre GBBF 2017 tasting. Pours oily back with a frothy, khaki head. The nose has some old, leathery berries, cocoa, moderate roast. Medium sweet flavour with bittersweet cocoa. Medium Bodied with fine carbonation. A little salty in the finish, some meaty dark malts, bittersweet cocoa, a little ash, dried berries. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle split at Chris & Ruths pre GBBF Shin Dig, cheers for all the shares, 05/08/17. Pitch black with a solid tan head. Nose is earthy fruit rinds, spice, charr, hint of vanilla, chocolate dipped raisins. Taste comprises dark fruits, molasses, light black peppery spice, touch of dark chocolate. Medium + body, fine carbonation, drying close with a moderate boost level attached. Ok impy stout ... a decent enough sipper but plenty better out there.

The great pre GBBF bottleshare at ChrisO’s. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth rich dark malts, plenty of dark chocolate. Mild spice. Tangy fruits underneath. Surprisingly light chocolatey finish. Nice.
