Porter with North American base malt as well as a blend of chocolate and caramel malts (including wheat and rye) provide the base with a hit of lactose for balance (dairy allergies beware). After primary fermentation, the beer was aged on The Northwoods Blend by Carrabassett Coffee, a medium roast coffee from Maine. After a short cold brew cycle, this porter has a velvety body with a freshly roasted bean aroma and a smooth, semi-sweet chocolate note carrying the beer through the finish.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a two finger khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: black coffee, roasted coffee tones; dark chocolate and some dark wet grains
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine bitter to roasty and sweet quality
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable; some smoothness but not too much as some of the roastiness seems to grind into the tongue
Overall: for the most part, this was a nice coffee porter I believe I could return to.

Could use some fine-tuning. Notes of bitter chocolate and espresso roast are met with a sharp cascara acidity, leading to a not-altogether pleasant metallic undertone. Finishes dry with a lingering java bitterness. Eh.

Can from The Beer Store in Nashua. Jet black color, brown head with spider web lacing. Nice aroma of earthy coffee grounds and dark unsweetened cocoa. Taste is very earthy coffee that's lightly sweet around the edges, plus bonus background chocolate bar. Delicious.

Can (1/11/21) pour from Trader Joe's, Bedford. It's opaque black with good sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width light brown foamy head with poor retention and nice rings of lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malts and coffee with dark chocolate. Taste is strong roasted coffee with a tart contribution, and dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thick, frothy texture, soft carbonation and mostly roasted bitter finish. Overall, it has an espresso feel to it that gets interrupted by a weird tart thing going on. Get that worked out and this would be spectacular!

16oz can pours a pours a translucent, rootbeer brown with some sticky, brown head. Nose is nice, nutty, malty, bread crust, Tootsie Roll, clear coffee grounds. Flavor is malty, coffee is right there, it's sweetened but it's evident, Tootsie roll, molasses. Lactose really helps with the body and tying things together. Finishes dry. Well balanced.

Can from the brewery. Inky black color with a huge frothy tan head that takes forever to recede. Huge coffee on the nose and in the flavor. Faint caramel and roasty grain with hints of earthy hops. Decent beer but the coffee overwhelms the base beer. More body or a little less coffee would do this beer wonders in drinkability.
