The base beer is a lager, brewed with Meyer lemons. The lemons originated from China, a cross between a true lemon and an orange. Anchor has used lemons in recent one-off releases, such as Anchor Meyer Lemon Kolsch.

Bottle at PIB 2016, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings light lemony notes and straw. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of lemon upfront, as well as straw and biscuity malt. Not too puckering. Decent.

Tap: Poured a clear yellow color lager with a medium size foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of lemon notes is quite pleasant with light fruity undertones. Taste is a mix between light cereal notes with some lemon notes without the tart notes and some light fruity undertones. Body is about average with good carbonation. Good use of lemon flavours without going the artificial route.

Pours light gold into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes to nothing. Sour caramel and lemon aromas. Sweet lemon front to back.

A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light grassy hops, lemon drops, OK. In mouth, a crisp caramel malt with lemon pledge, light vanilla, OK. On tap at Cigar and Stripes BBQ.

12 oz. can. Best by 4/8/2016 Standard pint A: Dirty dark yellow color with a nice half inch of clingy foam. Busy carbonation seen. S: A slight citrus edge on an otherwise malty aroma of sourdough. T: Crisp and sour lemon flesh notes at front with pith following. A bit of grass and cracker noticed at the finish. M: Light but also slightly thick feel with a medium short finish and good carb tingle. O: Not sure if this strikes me more as a lager or an ale but pretty good tasting light fruity lager. Accessible and affordable so not a bad choice for knocking back a few.

Bottle in Yuvalim. Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma of graininess and some lemon, somewhat zesty. Flavor has mildly sweetish malt, grainy and bready, mild lemon and a decent citric bitterish finish. Kinda light-bodied. Easy-drinking.

Pour is a hazy clear yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a lager pale malt with some lemon. The lemon is not huge, just enough is there to let you know. Flavor is more of a clean lager with a bone dry malt. The lemon is there but again it’s more of just a lemon zest then a full on lemon assault. This is not a shandy type beer. This is just a decent lager with a little lemon added to give it some tartness.

Can from Corti Bros. Pours gold with a slight white head. Aroma is citrus - including citrus leaf. Flavor is citrus - but not exactly lemon. I do get something similar to a citrus leaf. Malt is not exactly bready, not exactly pale. It’s sort of like the Anchor Steam malt? Actually quite pleasant and refreshing.
