Cloudy, medium head, light amber, has blueberry, salmonberry, nice fruitiness. Moderate bitterness, light phenols, melloe berry notes. The yeastiness picks up in the finish, with a touch of alcohol.

4 oz. taster at the source. Appearance is a near clear orange. Aroma shows me white wheat forward with the hops being real subtle. Herbal and pine like tones. Very low bitterness.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a hazy deep gold body that has golden hued edges and supports a nice looking tan head. The aroma offers up tangelo and clementine citrus as well as some classic Belgian Ale spiciness with an apricot skin musty funkiness in the background. The taste delivers a good load of hop infused Belgian Ale spiciness. The hops are right there too with a fairly equal balance with the Belgian influence. I get herbal, grassy, green shrubbery and some juicy citrus hops leading to a fun funky basement like quality. This comes together nicely. It’s got depth with plenty going on pulling the palate in multiple directions yet maintains a somewhat refreshing quality as the bitter hops, spiciness and funky twang keep the experience lively. Nice. As this aged though the flavor balanced skewed toward being Belgian forward and the hop nuances were drowned out, unfortunately. This rating is scored on the day 1 uber fresh sample from April.
