Flaske delt ombord på Fridtjofen, RBHD-samling april-16: rødlig mahogny med kort skum. Brent bær/urteaktig aroma med noe medisinalt i seg. Mye urter i smaken. Fint karbonert med myk munnfølelse. En god deleøl.

Bottle (AIH53, from ABM)
Chestnut brown color, small off-white head. Aroma has "Christmas spices" and sweetish maltyness. Light to medium-bodied. Herbal, slightly alcoholic, caramel in the flavor. Tickling bitterness and light smoke in the finish. Too weird for my liking.

Bottle at home in London - thanks to the Bois for picking this on up for me way back when Pours an attractive reddish brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds some wintery spices, perhaps a bit of cinnamon, some ripening berries, rich brown bread, faint brown sugar. Medium sweet flavor with hearty, lightly toasted bready malts, toffee, mild earthy bitterness, more berries, some dough and yeast, spices, suggestions of cocoa. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation and lightly oily texture. Warming finish, sweet, with gooey fruits, more hefty brown bread, brown sugar, spices, toffee. Not entirely coherent, but there are some tasty and compelling elements to this one. Good.
