German style black lager brewed with a flavorful blend of all German roasted malt and hops. Incredibly smooth and surprisingly light on the palate.

6 oz. pour @ the brew pub. Nose of light roasted malt and some lager yeast. Flavors of Chocolate malt and light smoke with the lager yeast noticeable again. Body is lighter which is NOT negative. Gives it added drinkability. Decent for the style. I would really like to have had a bit more chocolate and hop bitterness. This really could be much better if they refine the recipe.

A dark reddish brown schwarze with a thin creamy brown head. In aroma, more like a chalky kolsch with light roastiness. In mouth, a light watery beer with faint chocolate malt, chalky notes, boring. On tap at brewpub, July 12 2010
