Bottleshare at Leighton’s Gaff. Opaque dark brown beer, big tan head. Palate is very fluffy and quite dry, decent carbonation. Lively sourish dark malts with some accompanying roasty bitterness. Mild coca cola. Dry and bitter dark chocolate. Light malt cream. Dry and bitterish finish. Tasty enough.

Bottle picked up at Pig’s Ear 2016. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malts, soft sweet berry, blackcurrant, quite spicy and cocoa. The taste is roasted malt, coffee, charred wood, warming spice, liquorice, blackberry, blackcurrant and cocoa with a warming finish. Medium+ body and moderate+ foamy carbonation. Quite robust and flavoursome. Nice one.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Kenny. Pours clear brown with a big, foamy tan head. The aroma has dark fruits, mild roast, a little brown sugar. Medium sweet flavour with nicely rounded chocolate, raisins, more roast, light alcohol. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Nicely balanced in the finish, with more rich cocoa, moderate roast, a little scorched earth, dried berries. Actually, this is pretty darn good.

Bottle at Leighton’s place. 8/12/2016. Many thanks to Kenny for this one. A jet black coloured pour with a a lively mid tan head. Aroma is dry roast blackberry, vanilla. Flavour is composed of dry roast, earthy, scorched earrh, dried fruits, berries, cherry. Palate is very airy frothy, carbonation, dry finish. Prickly. Little homebrew quality. Not bad.
