Cask gravity at the Wandsworth beer fest preview night 26/03/14. Opaque black with a lasting loose tan head. Aroma is nice tart raspberry, dark choc and oak. Flavour is big rich dark chocolate, oak and berry fruits. Clean ferment with some american yeast character. Slight cider in the finish. Palate Iโ€™d nice and full but finishes pretty dry.

Draft at Pigs Ear 2013 - London. Pours oily black-brown with a bubbly, tan head. Light tangy dark malts in the aroma with nips of milk chocolate. Light to medium sweet flavor with treacle, more lightly tangy dark malts and dark fruits, some bittersweet cocoa. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately dry on the finish with more bitter dark chocolate, tangy fruits, a bit of torched wood. So so.

Pigs Ear. Opaque dark brown beer. No head. Smooth and slightly viscous palate. Tangy dark malts and a touch of dark fruits. Bitter roast and a little coffee. Finishes dry with a whisper of ash. Found this a bit chewy.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear โ€™13, 05/12/13. Mid black with a thin tan covering. Nose is roast malt, liqourice, light spice, dark toffee, chocolate. Taste comprises earthy cocoa, a touch lactic, tangy dark berry fruits, earthy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry closure. So so affair, drinkable but doesnโ€™t deliver much and sub par for the style.

Cask gravity at Pigs Ear 2013. It pours near black with pretty much no head. The nose is rich roast, coffee, oily, earth, dirt, toffee and tangy dark fruit. The taste is earth, roasty, toast, spice, medicinal, light tang, coffee, citrus peel, chewy malt and plenty of booze. Full body and soft carbonation. A bit chewy and tough going considering its only 7%.... Ok.
