Seems appropriate as the summer continues in full flow today, and first beer since ending my summer holiday - probably spend the next few months rating the 130+ new tastes I've had over the last fortnight on the road. This one is very similar to the many of the same style I've had in France recently, with strength and a hoppiness combining well for a full-bodied but palate friendly brew.

750ml bottle from Sainsburys in Gorgie. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of citrus, marmalade, light spice. Taste is more of the same. Chewy finish.

750ml bottle. Pours dark gold with a small head. Aroma is grassy, bready tangerine. Taste has floral yeast, bready straw and a little orange. Sweet finish.

750ml bottle. Crystal clear and amber in colour, with a small, white, head. Tangerine, apricot and sweet berry aorma. Flavour had more fruits with strawberries to the fore, clean malts and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

[75cl corked bottle from my local Sainsbury’s.] An amber pour with a fading white head; tropical fruit aroma; rich tropical fruit taste with a gentle bitterness; then a fruity finish with a touch of yeast. Refreshing.

Bottle from Eltham Sainsburys. Clear amber pour with a white head. Nose is orange marmalade, mango & passionfruit. Taste is very similar, nice spicy sweet citrusy vibe. Summer fruits & light hops in the aftertaste. Quite pleasant.

750ml C&C bottle from Sainsbury's online. It pours clear dark golden - blonde with a thick fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet malty vibes, bready, baked goods, biscuit, fragrant orangey citrus, marmalade and orange blossom. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, bitter - sweet, estery, orange peel, tangerine, marmalade, orange, estery, pear, melon, spicy, fragrant, floral, bready malt, biscuity, cereal and a touch of nuttiness with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Not bad.
