Stout is a dark beer made using roasted barley malt, hops and yeast. Traditionally the strongest (stoutest) porters, preferred by dock workers in the 19th century England. Today associated more with dark beer rather than just strong.

Can. Courtesy of Rune. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel flavor with hints of chocolate. Has a roasted malty caramel and chocolate finish.

Can. Dark brown, good creamy foam. Aroma: sweetness, vanilla, flowers, chocolate, caramel, a little pie with dried fruits. Ttaste is also sweet, caramel, roasted and burned malt, bitter and dessert chocolate, prunes, a drop of brandy, light creamy, softly, not bad.

Dark brown colour, small steady brownish head. Toasted, coffeish aroma.. Mediujm-bodied. Roasted, robust, enough hops. Some licorice. Well-brewed stout.

Håndverkølfestival 2017. Red dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dried fruits. Nice beer.

Can courtesy of Rune. Almost black with a frothy off-white head. Crisp tasting stout, mainly through the excellent water used in this ale. Has some light chocolate in its nose, with a more robust taste, but not overly stated in its roasted malts.

Raven black color with a fine dense beige head. Ok lacing. Decent intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and an average carbonation level. Ok balanced sweetness versus bitterness. Chocolate, roast and coffee in a fine mix. Decent easy drinkable stout.

Can 330ml. [ As Svalbard Spitsbergen Stout ].[ Courtesy of Rune ]. Clear dark brown colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, caramelized malt, malty, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average, burnt - caramelized bitter, caramelized, brown suger, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20170511] 6-3-6-3-11

Fra boks på Mi2 Cardinal juni-17: brunsvart med rødlig skjær og flott skum som varer. Mild aroma med røstet malt, kaffe og mørke sjokolader. Rund smak med de samme inntrykkene. Mild bitterhet i ettersmaken. God og lettdrikkelig.

Shared can at Mi2 at Cardinal 05.06.17. Ebony, Dense beige head and lacing. Fine aroma of dry hopping, pine, medium dark malt and liquorice. Similar taste, also with vanilla. Mediumm pine bitterness. Perhaps not quite in harmony with itself.
