Stout is a dark beer made using roasted barley malt, hops and yeast. Traditionally the strongest (stoutest) porters, preferred by dock workers in the 19th century England. Today associated more with dark beer rather than just strong.

Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, ash, lightly liquorice and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A nice stout without gimmicks.

Can courtesy of Rune. Almost black with a frothy off-white head. Crisp tasting stout, mainly through the excellent water used in this ale. Has some light chocolate in its nose, with a more robust taste, but not overly stated in its roasted malts.

Raven black color with a fine dense beige head. Ok lacing. Decent intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and an average carbonation level. Ok balanced sweetness versus bitterness. Chocolate, roast and coffee in a fine mix. Decent easy drinkable stout.

Fra boks på Mi2 Cardinal juni-17: brunsvart med rødlig skjær og flott skum som varer. Mild aroma med røstet malt, kaffe og mørke sjokolader. Rund smak med de samme inntrykkene. Mild bitterhet i ettersmaken. God og lettdrikkelig.
