Can at home in Hackney - picked up at the Empire Express on Mare Street. Pours crystal clear orange-gold with a foamy, off-white head. Crackery pale malts in the aroma, some faded pine, orange rind, ripening citrus. Medium sweet flavour with ample bready, pale malts, some more crackers, white bread crust, jammy orange, more rindy bitterness, a little oily pine. Medium bodied with average carbonation and oily texture. Finishes with subtle resin, more pale bread, some crackers, bitter pine, more orange rind, very slight marmalade. It’s a pretty just OK IPA. Seven years ago it would have been impressive.

Can from Wine Rack, West Byfleet. Drank at a neighbour’s s did n’ t get a chance to write notes. Citrus tinged aroma. An orange tinged amber. Thin white head. Taste is tinged... I jest of course. The Orange is there but it’s not overpowering. Got the bitterness. Well balanced. Light bodied. Slick. Carb? Enjoyable. Not as much citrus I expected.

Can from Cotteridge Wines; hazy amber pour with a thin off white head, aroma has big citrus orange and grapefruit, taste has forced citrus from the post brew additions, which is obviously the trend now, light caramel, drinks ok though.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines, Sheffield. Clear, dark gold. Lots of fine, rising bubbles. Thick, blotchy, sticky, off white head. Nice looker. Nose has stewed citrus. Orange marmalade. Some spicy, piny notes. Rye bread malts. Taste is piny, and pithy bitter. Bit of chewy, gluey sweetness. Sits a little heavy in the mouth. Crisp fizz, though. More pithy, piny bitterness to finish. Decent.
