On tap, pours a murky dark brown / black with some spitty mocha head. Nose has malt, marzipan, chocolate, cakey, soil. Flavor is solid, chocolate, malt, molasses, licorice, chewy grain and bread, brown sugar and caramel too. Finishes full bodied but also dry.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black sort of color with a thin tan foamy head. Light lingering lace.
The aroma had some milk and dark chocolate up front with some grassy and earthy hops, light bitterness. Some coffee bean roast.
The flavor yielded to the roast and bitterness of the coffee bean initially and rounded out with some black licorice sweetness. Damp coffee bean and chocolate aftertaste. Light dry chocolatey finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a fairly decent sessionable sort of quality about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt fine, though coming close to \"imperial\" in style.
Overall, worthy stout of coming back to.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice chocolate malt with nice mineral notes, light grassy hops, pleasant. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with coffee grind notes, roasted bitterness, nice and robust. On tap at brewery. 7.2%.
