A dark brown ale with a thick collapsing dark brown head. In aroma, nice smooth smoked malt with grassy notes, light licorice, very nice. In mouth, a nice roasted chocolate malt with light peated notes, grassy hops, light licorice, alcohol warmth, a bit thin but overall, very nice. Shared with GRM. Bottle from Coney Island, summer 2012.

12 oz bottle shared by beastiefan2k. Eugene mentioned this was brewed at the Brewery’s a 1 barrel system on Coney Island, which is cool. The pour is a darker brown, golden, with a smallish off white head. The aroma is roasted malt, smoke, and a soft char. The smoke is full, though well integrated so not overpowering. The taste is the char smoke, melded with the roasted malt, and then towards the back of the beer, there is a metallic character that detracts. The palate is medium bodied (though thins out a touch as it warms), lowish carbonation level, and the aforementioned metallic char taste lingering in the finish. Thanks for sharing Eugene, fun one to try.

Thanks to Eugene for sharing - dark brown, nearly black pour - moderate white lace - nose of strong campfire smoke, caramelized sugars/toasted marshmallow, some rich german maltiness - low, soft carbonation - moderately creamy texture - medium sweet flavor up front, with notes of caramelized sugars - dries out after that, with moderate smoke and wood, earthy bitterness - some roasted hazelnut - finish is a little watery, but otherwise this is a rich, fairly impressive smoked beer.
