Black but not opaque, small beige head. Good roasty aroma, subtle cocoa. Light mouthfeel, and a solid carb. Medium bitterness, light chocolate, solid roast. Decent.

Ok. Palate on light side here for a stout. Brown was a stronger beer for its style than this. Pours blackish with decent head and lacing. Light roast malt. Some light nut and dark chocolate. Finishes bitter with some caramel malt. Tap at brewpub.

Originally rated July 2012. This is my first brew from this new brewpub in my region. Pours a dark brown colour with a small white cap, but decent lacing. Aromas of roasted malts with notes of chocolate and hop. Average mouthfeel. The taste is pretty much the same as the nose; chocolate, roasted malts and hops. Decent balanced stout between the malt and hop, that is still refreshing.

Glass, 6-ounce, on the premise, savoured July 30 2012; eye: mahogany with a blackish hue, clear, no effervescence, tiny ring of beige head, slight lacing; nose: light roasted barley, chocolate, light dusty; mouth: light roasted barley, chocolate, light dusty, slight hops, a bit short finale in chocolate with slight presence of malt, medium body, slightly bitter and sweet, slick texture; overall: correct FRANÇAIS Verre, 6 onces, sur place, savourée le 30 juillet 2012; œil : acajou avec une teinte noirâtre, limpide, pas d’effervescence, petit anneau de mousse beige, très légère dentelle; nez : léger orge torréfiée, chocolat, légère poussière; bouche : léger orge torréfiée, chocolat, léger poussière, très léger houblon, finale un peu courte en chocolat avec très légère présence de malt, corps moyen, très légèrement amère et sucrée, texture coulante; en résumé : correct

A dark brown stout with a thin light brown head. In aroma, a smooth fruity chocolate malt with light grassy coffee notes. In mouth, a bitter metallic chocolate with lingering burned notes, a bit harsh and unpleasant. On tap at brewpub, July 7 2012.
