Bottle at Brothers Beer Bistro in Ottawa Aroma: Smoked bacon Appearance: Brown, not a lot of head, little lacing. Taste: Malty, smoke, roasted and again bacon. A lot of roasted notes. Smooth mouth feel, close to a porter. Thin and watery texture. Flavors are not very complex but the feel is smooth for a smoke beer. Not harsh at all. I usually don’t like smoke beers but I was surprised with the smooth feel of that one.

A dark reddish clear brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a light smoked caramel malt with light boiled veggies, celery salt, and bacon. In mouth, a smooth peaty nutty malt with light butterscotch, fruity esters, not bad. Shared with Mike and friends, April 1, 2012.
