Handpull cask at the Pineapple, Kentish Town. Dark gold, not quite clear. Small off-white head and lots of lacing. Some grapefruit in the aroma along with digestive biscuit and a touch of soap. Taste is bittersweet, there’s a tasty sharp hop in here but also more soap. Messy, and I like it less the more I drink. Thin body as well. Pretty average, although there is almost certainly a good beer in here somewhere...

Cask handpull at the brewery. Hazed golden orange coloured pour with a loose sticky white head. Aroma is grassy hop, little Berry, raw grains, husks. Flavour is composed of grainy , grassy rough round the edges, dirty assertive burnt grass bitterness. Palate is grainy, OK cask condition. Meh.

330ml bottle at 5.5%. Beers of Europe. No noise upon opening, worryingly. Pours flat, clear amber. Lack of any sediment and only the merest carbonation suggests bottle conditioning has not happened as planned. Aromas are crystal malt, floral hops, light burnt orange, sugar. Taste is light bitter, then caramel sweet. Oily texture. Some carbonation might have perked it up. Sticky finish.
