6er bought at the brewery.
Cloudy yellow pour. Aroma of wheat, and butter.
Flavor os dominated by heavy malted wheat, and butter. Thick mouthfeel, and even more butter. Good god this was bad.

Was surprise to see this one in an Ottawa LCBO (as 416 is a Toronto area code - and we all know how we feel about that in Canada’s Nation Capital :). Pours a hazy light golden colour with a white head that gives out nice dirty lacing. Great fresh spicy wheat nose (which surprised me also, coming from Amsterdam). Pretty good for a light beer with a refreshing wheat mouthfeel. Grainy flavours with soft hops in the finish. I see lots of resemblance to Steam Whistle, hints of the same thing in the smell and taste. Even the nice simple bottle presentation is close to its competition. Not as good as SW, but better than most Amsterdam brews. The plus for this one is the unfiltered aspect. Great for the warm days we are having right now - and hockey playoffs that are still on.

smells skunky, green bottle. A little astringent on the leave but otherwise tastes like lager. If urban wheat means this is supposed to taste like a dirty public telephone then this is certainly the 416... Bottle at Teds collision.

A golden wheat ale with a thick receding white head. In aroma, a light citrusy and lemony malt with skunky notes. In mouth, a light sweet grainy and lemony malt with German hops, mineral notes, rather boring. Bottle from Probstk, shared with GRM, Dec. 11 2011.

This wheat beer poured a cloudy, light yellow colour with a nice, big, bright white head. To the nose there are scents of skunk and eggs. Obviously off. The green bottle probably didn’t help. Other scents include milk, spice, bread and a little glue? First sip was smooth and a little watery with flavours of light bitter hops, a little spice and bread. Finish has a medium hops flavour and a slight bitterness. Palate is bitter with hops til the end.
