Sampled at the DC Ratebeer Gathering. 750ml bottle pours a translucent, copper amber with one ring of white head. Big apple cider aroma, a little vinegar, sweet, fruity, pears. Flavor is tart, apples, pears, vinegar, light crystal malt, light caramel. Full bodied, vinegar finish.

Bottle shared by MrChopin. End of the bottle so the pour was a bit of a murky brown. Tart earthy aroma, berries, stone fruits, toasted malts, must and grapes. Also smelled a pour from earlier in the bottle which was more caramel and raisin forward. The taste is cranberries, earthy notes, caramel and a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Decent.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a large, foamy, off-white head over a hazy brown body. Aroma of orange, honey, slightly tart, toffee, honey suckle and mango. Taste is slightly metallic with elderflower, chocolate and citrus. Light bubbles and a syrupy mouthfeel.

I am fond of Dubbels in general but was a bit underwhelmed by this one. Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a medium dark brown with a medium sized tan head. The aroma is sweet and sugary with a hint of alcohol burn. The flavor is sweet with heavy Belgian candi sugar notes. The malts are milder than I would expect from this style. The alcohol burn dominates this one too much. The finish is a bit sharp and biting.

Ommegang fest. Brown ale with a ginger aroma. Nice caramel malt with light balanced hops and smooth alcohol finsih. Some coriander notes. Pleasant.
