Cask at Old No 7, Barnsley. Sampled June 2017. Poured clear yellow gold with a beige cap. Aroma: pale malts, light caramel, citrus, orange, hoppy. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, citrus, fruity, grassy finish. Light to medium body with light carbonation.

Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby. Pours s golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Somewhat lacing in the aroma department – I couldn’t really detect any ! Has a creamy texture with floral hops and some citrus. To be honest I didn’t realise it was supposed to be a lager. Pretty forgettable really.

Handpull cask at the Exeter Arms, Derby. Light gold, almost straw. Very little aroma, some corn syrup, some hay. Sweet taste with a massive versatile note. Some bitterness in the finish. Syrupy body, almost no carbonation. Shameful.

[ As Welbeck Abbey Kaiser ].Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, light to moderate hoppy, citrus, orange. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, pale malt, sweet malt, citrus, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20151010] 6-3-7-3-14
