330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, lemon zest, an additional herbal touch reminds of lemon drops, a spicy touch of hay. Taste is sweet-ish, pale malty and slightly bitter, citrusy hoppy, notes of lemon, lemon zest, lemon drops, a touch of mint, underlying malty spiciness; smooth and super-soft palate. Nice.

9/10/10/10/11/9

Pours clear gold with a white, frothy head that subsides to a thin, creamy layer. Aroma is butterscotch, mango, a bit of pine. The aroma meets the intent — the strong hop aspects meld nicely with the more traditional bock scents. Taste is bittersweet, tropical fruit notes, light cardboard, caramel. Finishes warming, dry, lightly bitter. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, clingy. Overall I wanted to really like this after the interesting start, but was not entirely convinced.

Bouteille (333ml): Hazy, pale golden with a greenish sheen, stable and lacy foamy layer; moderate but distinctive sweetish-bitter, herbal to piney nose, traces of sweetish pale malt in the background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied and pretty soft; spicy and lingering bitter-herbal finish with some balancing "strawy" pale malt. A nice and moreish pleasure...

0.33 l bottle from ’Bierhandwerk’, best before November 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy and slightly herbal aroma of lemongrass, pineapple, some onion and fresh grass. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, very grassy, fruity and a bit herbal taste of pineapple, lemongrass, straw and some honey, followed by a medium long, rather dry-bitter, herbal-grassy finish with a touch of alcohol. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Really tasty stuff, even hoppier than expected, maybe already a tad too bitter for the style but overall a good beer. Maisel begin to impress me recently!
