Mixed fermentation ale with apple variety Dabinett from our friends at Little Ponoma Cider in Herefordshire.

This simple beer was brewed with wheat, fermented and conditioned with a mixed culture of yeast and bacteria, then aged in oak for 1 year. It was then refermented on apple pomace for 4 weeks. It has aromas of berries and red apples, a gentle acidity and a soft finish.

Looks like cider. Aroma of cider, apple, white wine, funky notes, citrus, lemon, vanilla, berries, winegar. Pleasant. Taste similar as lambic but little watery. Cider hints. Little funky accents. medium sour, tart. Low carbonation. Quite good.

Bottle, thanks to Tipple, split at the L6 Xmas Blast, 15/12/22. Pale golden yellow with a good sized white cap. Nose is light funk, apple skins, dusty straw, hedgerow, lemon verbena. Taste comprises tangy apple, straw, herb, funk, barnyard nip, citric zest, light acidic ripple. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. It's okay ... it just doesn't lift off and is stuck muddling about in 3rd gear.
