Rutland Beast is strong yet exceptionally balanced. Dark earthy brown in colour, it’s fantastic flavours blend together to produce a mind blowing great beer.
Brewed using a combination of seven different malts and wheats, as well as three classic hop varieties, Rutland Beast is a true animal. Regarded as the ‘Bigger Brother’ of the Rutland Panther, the Beast is rarely spotted around these parts, but is a spectacular sight when seen.

Dark brown with a creamy tan head and a caramel malt aroma. Sweet and malty, dark fruits and a touch of cake mix, somewhat vinous with some mellow hop bitterness and a dry finish.

Hand pulled pint in my local Spoons on 28th July 2026. Nearly didn't have it, as I thought I'd already had it at the brewery in Oakham, glad I checked and discovered I hadn't. Dark bodied with a creamy tanned head. Soft but malty front with a decent boozy feel, very drinkable.

Cask at Briar Rose, Birmingham. Took a while to settle but was closer to ruby red in colour with smooth off white head and good lacing. Quite rich and malt driven with notes of toast, caramel, nuts and slight leafy hop. Sticky mouthfeel with soft fine carbonation. Interesting but one was enough.

Half-pint, cask ale at Moon Under Water (JDW). Remaining beige head over a clear copper coloured body, dotted spots on the glass. Raisin and caramel on the nose. Fine blended taste of dried fruits, mild caramel malts, and grain. Drying close, lightly roasted, and not overly sweet. Pretty decent. Celebration drink. (Hounslow, 03.11.2022).
