A deeply satisfying dark mild crafted from a blend of 7 different malts. Complex and roasty with a gentle chocolate and toffee sweetness. Perfect for armchair drinking in front of the fire.

Pint at the Head of Steam, Didsbury. I was rather disappointed by this beer. I like dark milds and I usually like Red Willows beers but this one was bland. I did have a slight cold so perhaps my taste buds were a bit off.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2022 - day 1. Pours clear red-brown with a small, creamy off-white head. A lot of dry tobacco, toasted malts, earth, cocoa accents, burnt pine. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, further ash, tobacco. Not bad overall.

Cask at Pigs Ear. Almost clear brown beer, tiny pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, modest carbonation. Slightly earthy malts, whisper of smoke. Ripe plummy fruits. Light dry finish. Flavoursome but dry.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours almost black with a large cream head. The aroma has malts and a hint of chocolate. In the mouth it starts off fruity but becomes sweeter as times progresses. Malts are again the main flavour along with cola, caramel and a hint of parkin. Finish is slightly more fruity. Decent enough.

Panda 🐼 at home thanks to Wingmane for this one. A clear mahogany brown coloured pour with lasting loose light tan head. Aroma is light ash, toasted wood, sabro, campfire, some dried fruits. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, toasted nuts, ash, powdery, hint of sabro, dried coconut. Palate is semi sweet, dry, fine carbonation. Ok.

Panda at home, thanks to Dave, 10/04/22. Extremely dark mahogany brown bordering light black topped with a good sized khaki cap. Nose is dark fruit rinds, hint of vanilla, nutty, brown bread. Taste comprises fruit slice, toffee, nutty, cocoa powder, brown bread, dark malts, dates. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Tasty mild ... good flavour profile for the 3.5%.
