Two days in Edinburgh and I've missed hearing the 1pm gun fired from the castle on both occasions. Another chance tomorrow. There's no chance of hearing it in the Cold Town bar with 80's classics being churned out whilst sipping this hazy dryish mildly fruity, good bodied IPA.

Can from LCB, still 8 months in date. Pours a semi hazed yellow-gold with small white head. Aroma is very much on the lemon citric side with melon and a background earthiness. Taste of lemon, sweet tinned mixed fruit, moderate bitter herbal edge in the finish. Light to medium bodied, easy drinking. Simple but very sessionable. Enjoyed it.

Can thanks to Irma. Appearance - pale golden and clear. Big, foamy white head. Nose - floral, geraniums, in fact. Citrus and stone fruit. Taste - fruit salad, so fresh apple, tinned orange and melon. Palate - light bodied, zesty and bitter middle and finish. Overall - quite nice.

Can from Aldi, Inverurie. It pours hazy yellow - blonde with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is rice crispies, fragrant, floral, citrus peel zing, cracker and a touch of gooseberry. The taste is crisp, dry, quite firm, pleasing bitterness which builds and lingers, crackery malt, minerality, general fruitiness which is more citrussy than anything else and a touch of white grape/gooseberry with a dry finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. Decent cold IPA. Drinks well.
