Hunker down on these cold, dark nights with this Winter Pale Ale. Using bold American hops Willamette and Columbus, a pale malt base is lifted with powerful citrus fruit flavours, backed by more subtle floral, pepper and spice notes.

[50cl bottle from Morrisons, Bracknell.] A bright golden amber pour with an immediately dissipating white head and lively carbonation; sweet malty aroma; rather thin in the mouth with a biscuity malt taste and some berries; then a few hedgerow hops adding a fruity bitterness to finish,

500ml bottle. Poured a clear golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malty, light hops. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light biscuit malty, dry, woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Creamy white head on golden coloured body.
Pale malt, biscuit & berry around.
Medium bodied, smooth with a sharp finish.
Malt, berries, tea & citrus tastes with a hopped finish.
Decent Pale.

Second Christmas beer of the season, the second on the same night too.. might be a trend for the next month. A hoppy session style beer so not particularly seasonal, but pretty decent for what it is.

Bottle at Auntie Sue's on 15th November 2025. Obtained from my local Morrison's. Pale golden body, clean and clear, fast fading white wisp on top. Slight citrus nose and taste, nothing wintery about it in my opinion, all a bit subtle and thin.

Gulbrun klar med hvitt skum. Lukter sitrus, stikkelsbær og noe brød. Lett. Smaker noe av sitrusskall og lys karamell. Kort. Noe bitterhet i avslutninger.

Can at the Corstorphine Inn. Pours clear pale yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light lemon and biscuit. Taste is more of the same. Light bitter finish.
